DUI Driver Causes Wrong-Way Accident

Geovany Mendez is charged with DUI following a head on collision with another vehicle. The accident happened at approximately 11:15 p.m. when Mendez was going southbound in the northbound lane of Anderson Road near Hoover Boulevard. The other driver was reported to have suffered and injury and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. BAC testing on Mendez found blood alcohol content levels of 0.173 and 0.168, which is far beyond the legal limit of 0.08.

Impossible To Avoid Collision

Anderson Road has a small bend before reaching a dead end with Hoover Boulevard. This accident likely happened as Mendez rounded the curve with the arrow. The scary thing about an accident such as this one is that the other driver would have had very little or no time to react to avoid the crash.
